Wet summer night

Three am, I couldn’t sleep. The pitter patter soothed my senses but didn’t put me to sleep. I turned, rolled, pulled the blanket up and then down, no use.
I got out of bed to get some water, I forgot to drink the water but instead decided to sit outside my window.
Headphones screamed something pop but I didn’t care and continued to watched the grey sky shed.
I was staring at the sky, the wind gave me the chill so I pulled my legs closer and the rain slid down my knees.
The cold breeze embraced me in warmth, that only cold rainy nights can offer. The lightning lit up the sky and I turned off the music to listen to the city, sky and rain talk to me. It’s my anti-depressant, like kisses that warm the soul.
